FLASH ANIMATION for Broadcast Television

It has been a while since I last posted, so it's about time! This week I am working on a Flash Project adapted from a Children's Book, for the express purpose of demonstrating my skill as a Flash animator to potential employers.

It has been a while since I used Flash, and I am really enjoying the process of relearning the interface as it applies to animation for broadcast television. Here I have inported my storyboard to a template which I created for an NTSC output. Notice the action-safe, and title-safe zones that I created as guide layers. These are improtant to keep in mind when designing for television. Guide layers in Flash are not drawn to the final output.

A good book on the subject is Flash Cartoon Animation, by Kevin Peaty and Glen Kirkpatrick.
