"Dear Universe,"

I enjoy using creativity and painting to just ask the universe for things I want, like an affordable new place to live.

I also enjoy painting with others. This was done in a bit of a ritual with my partner Michelle to put our intentions out to the world to find a new place to live and work, which is affordable and will give us the space we need in the neighbourhood.

This process also has a therapeutic value to it. By taking the emphasis off of worrying about the future, everything "working out right", or waffling on making decisions, we put our feelings to work to create a visual representation of our intention to move from our current place, which is wonderful, but not quite sufficient anymore.

We each started painting a side of the picture, then switched part way through, and switched back a couple of times, adding to or complementing each others expressions. We paused once in a while to chat about what we see emerging, then we filled in where ever we felt there was something missing. Voila! After a half hour we were happy with our product, and we both felt a lot better about are decision to move.

I Love this PODxt thing.

So, once upon a time I was a semi-professional guitar player, playing gigs in a hair rock band and recording original music in an expensive recording studio. What a crazy life that was. I eventually quit the band to save my life. When I went to University I gave all of my gear to a friend who had lost his eye-sight, to encourage him to keep playing guitar. I knew I would never survive my degree if I had multiple passions vying for my attention. I gave up playing guitar all together.

Over a decade later I have reconnected with music and I am now once again playing in a rock band, while working on multiple forms of my own music, which ranges from folk and indie to trance, tribal, children's music, and everything else under the sun. I love telling stories with music as much as I do with visual art.

A really amazing guitar player I know introduced me to the PODxt. With this thing I have in the palm of my Stratocaster laden claws the power to mimic just about every guitar sound you have heard in a song in the last 50 years.

Check it out!

Expressive Arts Jam

Back in January my partner Michelle hosted an expressive arts jam for the kids she teaches piano, and their families. It was held in the studio (Sea Studios/Sundance Expressive Arts) in our house (House of Musement). Kids performed piano, showed artwork created here, and told stories about their pieces, sometimes incorporating dance and movement.

I was recruited to facilitate a group painting. I'd have loved to have posted that, but it is only going to be available to clients via the secure Website we have in the works. I had a lot of fun, as did many of the parents and kids. Afterward Michelle and I decided to paint a response piece to the mural they all painted, using the paint that was left over. This is it. So, as they say " a picture is worth a thousand words," and this one best describes the vibe of that afternoon in our lovely home studio.
